There are many people who wonder about the nature of American politics. The eternal unanswerable questions are known and the same now as always. My friend Hunter asked me an answerable question, though.
"What the fuck did Ted Cruz do to the Republican Party? Seriously, that you would rather deal with the consequences of DONALD TRUMP, literal fascist, than Ted Cruz?"
I said, "You can be an asshole and a Congressman and still have the respect of the party Establishment. You cannot be an asshole and a Senator. All Senators are such colossal egotistical assholes already that is you are obviously an egotistical asshole compared to United States Senators, nobody will ever like you."
